In memory of the 3 Jews murdered [by a Fatah-Jihad suicide terrorist from Gaza, who tunneled through Egypt and then illegally entered Israel from northern Sinai] in the southern port city of Eilat, Israel; also dedicated to the 5 people treated for shock at the scene and God’s people:

Grafted In

As a rose trembles in Sharon,
As a lily wilts in the valley,
That is where I pause to grieve
The basin of indecision
The Holy Land in a coma
As in the days of Noah
Sirens muffle widows’ sobs,
Katyusha rockets rain down
Upon angels sitting shiva
Before the winds are loosed
To judge and uproot
The mournful from the merry
The sheep from the goats
The hour from time
Watch your salvation
Revealed in My Hand
On that day when
Suddenlies:
A wild rose and lily
Grafted into Eytz Chayim

Bloom again

DO YOU KNOW:

Mrs. Hillary Clinton?

Hillary’s mom’s second husband was Jewish.

The difficulty some have with Hillary is her husband former President Bill. Yasser Arafat was a regular guest at Bill Clinton’s White House and he used extreme pressure to get Israel to make concessions that were clearly not in her long term interests. During his second term in office Bill Clinton seemed to care more about creating his legacy than about the risks his ideas posed to Israeli security. Indeed it is Bill Clinton that must take some of the blame for the second intifada and the suicide bombings and killing of innocents that followed.

As recently as last year during the Lebanon war against Hizbullah Bill Clinton stated that Israel was using disproportionate force and wanted a quick ceasefire. Whether Hilary sincerely disagrees with Bill’s views regarding Israel’s national defense strategies is an open question. To her credit however, she has stated publicly that she disagreed with Bill regarding both his reluctance to use force and his lack of support for Israel. On March 21, 1999 she urged Bill to bomb the Serbians: “You cannot let this go on at the end of a century that has seen the major holocaust of our time. What do we have NATO for if not to defend our way of life?” she told him. The next day Clinton declared that force was necessary.

In October 2000 she urged her husband to veto a one sided and unfair UN Security Council resolution condemning Israel’s response to Palestinian protests. She said that Bill Clinton ignored her advice and the US just abstained instead. Hilary Clinton also voted for the war in Iraq and, as of yet, has not called for a timetable for troop withdrawal despite the pressure to do so. One must conclude that there is little basis on which to doubt Hilary Clinton’s sincere support for and dedication to Israel’s safety and security and her determination and strength when it comes to national security and defense.

Mr. Rudy Giuliani?

We start by talking about Giuliani’s view of the world, which he divides into people who are either good or evil. “There are some people who should be completely avoided,” he says. “It is counter-productive to deal with them, and they will just drag you down.”

As an example, he suggests Yasser Arafat. Before Giuliani ran for mayor, he was a New York lawyer (he was born to Italian immigrant parents who had a bar and grill). One day, he was assigned to investigate the 1985 PLO hijacking of the Italian cruise ship, the Achille Lauro. He remembered how a disabled American man was dragged out of his wheelchair and thrown into the sea. Ever since, Giuliani has had a “special contempt” for Arafat and so, when the UN celebrated its 50th birthday in New York during Giuliani’s reign, he refused to invite him to the mayoral party. But Arafat turned up anyway. When Giuliani saw him there, he told his beefiest security guard to throw him out.

“That was profoundly satisfying,” Giuliani says, relishing the memory of Arafat trying to argue with the guard before storming out.

“Some of my aides said: ‘You can’t do it, because it will cause an international incident’. But I believe there is a certain level of civilisation that a person has to reach in order to be treated the same way other people are treated. You may have to deal with these people, but you don’t have to put them on the same level as decent people.”

“Maybe we should wake people up to the way this terrorist is being romanticized,” Giuliani of Arafat.

He also noted that Arafat had been implicated in the murder of American civilians and diplomatic personnel. A spokesman for the Clinton Administration stated Giuliani’s actions were “an embarrassment to everyone associated with diplomacy.”

Former mayors David Dinkins and Ed Koch held a joint press conference to denounce Giuliani. “Mayor Giuliani has behavioral problems dealing with other people,” Koch told reporters.

Two days after the concert an unrepentant Giuliani said, “I would not invite Yasser Arafat to anything, anywhere, anytime, anyplace. I don’t forget.”

Later Giuliani said he was “proud of that decision [booting Arafat]. I’d make it again, and the day I’d stop making it is the day I’d resign as mayor…When I write my memoirs, this is one of the things that I probably will be proudest of.”

P.S. Don’t forget about Michael Bloomberg, T.D. Jakes, Joseph Lieberman, John McCain, Barack Obama…

Serena Williams of the USA, a Jehovah’s Witness, capped a comeback with a stunning win in the Australian Open finals over current U.S. Open Champion and #1 player in the world, Maria Sharapova of Russia.

Sharp and intensely focused from the start, Williams simply overwhelmed Sharapova 6-1, 6-2 Saturday to win the Australian Open and her eighth Grand Slam title.

Only the second unseeded woman to win the Australian title in the Open era, Williams came into the tournament ranked No. 81 after playing in only four tournaments last year due to a bad knee. She will jump to No. 14 when the new rankings come out next week.

With occasional showers and a strong wind outside, the roof was closed on packed Rod Laver Arena. Williams saw it as an sign: She won her other two titles here, in 2003 and 2005, with the roof closed.

After taking the match in just 1 hour and 3 minutes, Williams tossed her racket in the air and dropped on her back. Then she hopped around on the court in jubilation before slapping hands with her mother, Oracene, and some of the fans in the first row of seats, and dancing a little jig.

“I’d like to thank my mom. I was a bad student this fortnight,” Williams said. “I yelled at her, said some things under my breath. But she just kept coming. I really appreciate it.

Williams dedicated the title to her half-sister, Yetunde Price, who was shot to death in 2003.

“I just love her so much,” she said, her voice cracking. “I’ll try not to get teary-eyed but I said a couple of days ago, if I win this it’s going to be for her. So thanks Tunde.”

Serena, who overcame Israeli rising star Shahar Peer in 3 grueling sets during the quarterfinals, was practically flawless on the court as she soundly routed Maria. The same could be said of her critics, who have questioned her weight and stamina during the prestigious tournament. Serena Williams can safely say, by lifting up the Grand Slam trophy, “I told you so!”

Snaps images above Arkansas: ‘I have no idea what they were’

January 17, 2007
By Joe Kovacs

In the wake of reports of unidentified objects flying over Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, a retired Air Force pilot has his own mystery with a rash of bright, colorful lights he photographed hovering in skies over western Arkansas last week.

“I believe these lights were not of this world, and I feel a duty and responsibility to come forward,” Col. Brian Fields told WND. “I have no idea what they were.”

Fields, 61, was cooking chicken at his Van Buren, Ark., home Jan. 9 when just before 7 p.m., he observed two intensely bright lights as he looked to the southeast close to the horizon.

“At first I thought they were landing lights from an aircraft,” he said. “As I continued to observe them they began to slowly disappear, then suddenly one reappeared, followed by two, then three. On at least one occasion four or five appeared. Each time they would slowly fade and eventually disappear. This occurred several times and when they would reappear they might do so in differing numbers and in different positions, sometimes in a triangular shape, sometimes stacked on top of each other, sometimes line abreast, etc. When the objects appeared they might stay illuminated 10 or more minutes.”

Fields’ wife thought the lights may have been ground-based, but Fields says he’s certain they were airborne. The retired colonel spent close to 32 years in the military, flying F-16s as a member of the 188th Fighter Wing of the Arkansas Air National Guard.

“I’m certain it wasn’t an aircraft [from Earth],” said Fields, who also ruled out the possibility of flares, saying they didn’t descend like flares typically do. “It’s not anything I ever had any experience with . … They were some kind of energy or something.”

Fields grabbed his Canon digital camera with 6 megapixel resolution to document what he and his wife were witnessing, and snapped numerous images of the mysterious lights.

He says the phenomenon lasted an hour and 15 minutes, and local news agencies have not published or broadcast any reports of what the couple witnessed. WND surveyed local police and sheriffs agencies, as well as Fort Chaffee, a decommissioned Army base in the region, and no one reported anything out of the ordinary.

“I just can’t imagine other people didn’t see it,” Fields said, noting they appeared at times like a yo-yo at 5 to 10 degrees above the horizon.

Earlier this month, the Chicago Tribune reported workers for United Air Lines said they saw a flying saucerlike object hovering “low over O’Hare International Airport for several minutes before bolting through thick clouds with such intense energy that it left an eerie hole in overcast skies.”

That Nov. 7 sighting took place just before sunset about 4:30 p.m.

According to Tribune columnist Jon Hilkevitch, “All the witnesses said the object was dark gray and well defined in the overcast skies. They said the craft, estimated by different accounts to be 6 feet to 24 feet in diameter, did not display any lights.

“Some said it looked like a rotating Frisbee, while others said it did not appear to be spinning. All agreed the object made no noise and it was at a fixed position in the sky, just below the 1,900-foot cloud deck, until shooting off into the clouds.”

When interviewed on National Public Radio about the story, Hilkevitch indicated the event was anything but a hoax.

“That’s what impressed me about this. All aviation professionals, very credible sources and they are very serious,” Hilkevitch said. “They are not saying what they saw was a, you know, a spaceship from another planet, but it was unidentified, it was in restricted airspace, and they were concerned from a safety standpoint. That if this was something man-made, they needed to get it out of there because they were having busy flight operations in the early evening hours.”

Back in Arkansas, Col. Fields, who says he’s a Christian who has not been a believer in alien life forms from other planets, speculated what he saw could possibly be related to ancient texts from the Bible.

One of them is Luke 21:11, where Jesus discusses signs of the End Times, stating, “And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.”

Another is even more ancient, going back to the time of Noah’s flood.

“That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. … There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” (Genesis 6:2-4)

These Old Testament verses have been enigmatic for centuries, but many Christians believe they refer to a time in antiquity when spirit beings, perhaps angels in rebellion against God, visited Earth and had sexual relations with human women, producing “giants,” which is translated from the Hebrew word “Nephilim,” which some scholars say is better translated as “fallen ones.”

“I believe it’s prophetic, something do with what’s happening in the Middle East today,” said Fields. “If this is some kind of event with visitation, it’s entirely possible. When the anti-Christ comes into power, it’s not going to be something we expect. The deception that is going to be attached to it is going to be so powerful, you’re gonna have to go against your reason to reject it.”

While Fields cannot be certain of what it was he saw, he wants to tell people not to be deceived.

“Be awake, be mindful you can be deceived,” he said. “There are things that can shake our world.”

Is Europe and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas collaborating with Israel? I hope so…

A member of PM Ehud Olmert’s Kadima party proposed transferring control of Judea and Samaria to a European task force.

Judea and Samaria encompass Jerusalem and are within rocket-firing range of Tel Aviv and Israel’s international airport.

At Israel’s prestigious Herzliya Conference, Knesset Member Shlomo Breznitz, reportedly a close confidante of Olmert, said the Judea and Samaria should be temporarily transferred to the Europeans and that most of the territory’s Jewish communities should be evacuated.

“The only way to get out of the impasse is to transfer the territories, for a limited time, to an international mandate, that will run them,” said Breznitz at the conference.

Breznitz told Israel’s Maariv daily newspaper the territories should be transferred to the European community and not the United States because, he said, after the invasion of Iraq America “lost its status as an honest broker in the view of the Palestinians and the Arab states.”

It also comes after WND reported the E.U. is in the process of expanding its offices in Israel, including in the PA controlled areas, in anticipation of an increased security role here following what European diplomatic sources say is new momentum regarding an Israeli withdrawal from Judea and Samaria.

They sources, who said they were directly involved in behind-the-scene negotiations, said one proposal being considered is for the E.U. and Jordan to supervise the transfer of northern Samaria to Abbas’ security forces, which reportedly are receiving aid, weapons and training from the U.S.

The sources said major changes in Israeli-Palestinian affairs are expected within a few weeks to two months.

According to an aide to EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, speaking on condition of anonymity, there will be a “historic political evolution and movement in negotiations in the next few weeks and few months, unseen since the Camp David peace talks in 2000.”

During the Camp David talks, then-Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered then-Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat a state in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, as well as eastern sections of Jerusalem.

On Monday, Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz said he viewed any Palestinian elements recognizing the state of Israel as a partner for negotiations “even if it is Hamas.”

Olmert has made similar comments.

So far, Hamas has refused to recognize Israel but recently offered a 10-year truce with the Jewish state. In a series of interviews this past weekend, Hamas leaders told WND during any 10-year truce period they would build a large Palestinian army and plan for the destruction of Israel.
Olmert’s office this week denied the WND reports on negotiations to withdraw from Judea and Samaria.

Nazi Persecution Revisited in So-Called Palestine

According to the families, many Christians have long been afraid to complain in public about the campaign of “intimidation” for fear of retaliation by their Muslim neighbors and being branded “collaborators” with Israel.

But following an increase in attacks on Christian-owned property in the city over the past few months, some Christians are no longer afraid to talk about the ultra-sensitive issue. And they are talking openly about leaving the city.

Qumsiyeh, one of the few Christians willing to speak about the harsh conditions of their community, has been the subject of numerous death threats. His house was recently attacked with fire-bombs, but no one was hurt.

He said a monk was recently roughed up for trying to prevent a group of Muslim men from seizing lands owned by Christians in Beit Sahur. Thieves have targeted the homes of many Christian families and a “land mafia” has succeeded in laying its hands on vast areas of land belonging to Christians, he added.

Fuad and Georgette Lama woke up one morning last September to discover that Muslims from a nearby village had fenced off their family’s six-dunam plot in the Karkafa suburb south of Bethlehem. “A lawyer and an official with the Palestinian Authority just came and took our land,” said 69-year-old Georgette Lama.

The couple was later approached by senior PA security officers who offered to help them kick out the intruders from the land. “We paid them $1,000 so they could help us regain our land,” she said, almost in tears. “Instead of giving us back our land, they simply decided to keep it for themselves. They even destroyed all the olive trees and divided the land into small plots, apparently so that they could offer each for sale.” When her 72-year-old husband, Fuad, went to the land to ask the intruders to leave, he was severely beaten and threatened with guns.

The couple’s Christian neighbor, Edward Salama, said the problem in the city was the absence of law and order. “We are living in a state of chaos and lawlessness,” he said. “The police are afraid of the thugs who are taking our lands.”

Salama expressed deep concern over the conditions of Christians in Bethlehem, noting that many were leaving the country as a result of the deterioration.

A Christian businessman who asked not to be identified said the conditions of Christians in Bethlehem and its surroundings had deteriorated ever since the area was handed over to the PA in 1995

“The time will come when you will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about: the sacrilegious object that causes desecration F133 standing in the Holy Place” – reader, pay attention! 16 “Then those in Judea must flee to the hills. 17 A person outside the house F134 must not go inside to pack. 18 A person in the field must not return even to get a coat. 19 How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for mothers nursing their babies in those days. 20 And pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For that will be a time of greater horror than anything the world has ever seen or will ever see again. 22 In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, the entire human race will be destroyed. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones.

In an effort to establish more effective deterrence in the face of Iran’s race to obtain nuclear weapons, government ministries are, for the first time, working on drafting a position paper that will include guidelines and a strategy for turning Yisroel into a full-fledged member of NATO, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

The former Spanish leader and current president of the FAES Spanish think tank said that if Yisroel became a member of NATO, “the perception in Iran would change, knowing that it’s not only Israel [they are dealing with], but all of NATO.”

You can find a current chart of members with links to government web sites here.

Jesus Camp directed by Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady was nominated this morning for an Academy Award in the category of Best Documentary Feature. However, I’d hardly categorize it as a Kosher Christian film.

PluggedIn Online (A Web Site of Focus on the Family) has a succinct review of the controversial film. Personally, I question the motives, not only of the Directors of Jesus Camp, but also the parental guidance of these impressionable kids.

Besides all that, His name is Yeshua.

“Yeshua said to them, ‘Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men!’” (The Complete Jewish Bible, Matthew 4:19).

There was an exchange of raquets and a figurative golden baton between former U.S. Open champion Svetlana Kusnetsova of Russia and rising tennis star Shahar Peer of Yisrael in the fourth round of the Australian Open. And now 19 year old Shahar Peer is running forward from the baseline to the net into the quarterfinals. Even with a rain delay, she was able to keep her concentration steady. The 16th seed became the first Yisraeli woman to reach the quarter-final of a grand slam with a performance of great agility on Vodafone Arena, often cruelly exposing the lethargic movement of her flat-footed Russian opponent.

“I’ve never beaten this kind of top 10 player before,” said Peer, already a semi-finalist on the Gold Coast this year.”I went to play my game today and I am very happy with the way I played. My serve was effective, I was aggressive and the rain delay did not affect me.”

Peer will now face the winner of the fourth-round match between in-form Serbian 11th seed Jelena Jankovic and twice former champion Serena Williams.

What’s next for Shahar Peer: Professional Golf Tour?:) The stars the limit***

“Then he brought him outside and said, “Look up at the sky, and count the stars – if you can count them! Your descendants will be that many! He believed in ADONAI, and he credited it to him as righteousness” (The Complete Jewish Bible, Genesis 15:5-6).

“Nearly every morning I go to the attic to blow the stuffy air out of my lungs. From my favorite spot on the floor I look up at the blue sky and the bare chestnut tree, on whose branches little raindrops shine, appearing like silver, and at the seagulls and other birds as they glide on the wind. As long as this exists, I thought, and I may live to see it, this sunshine, the cloudless skies, while this lasts I cannot be unhappy,” Anne Frank wrote in her diary on Feb. 23, 1944.

The late Bob Ross and his “Happy Trees” are quickly becoming a thing of the past, just as Anne’s memory of the comforting tree in the Amsterdam courtyard, behind the canal-side warehouse where the Frank family took refuge for more than two years – is slated to be cut down due to attacks by an aggressive fungus and a moth, called the horse chestnut leaf miner.

Consequently, the deforestation of western civilization, by a swarm of blood-thirsty Mooslims, is at hand.

However, let us not forget His promise for all of Yisrael and her trees:

“Then I will make up to you for the years That the swarming locust has eaten, The creeping locust, the stripping locust and the gnawing locust, My great army which I sent among you” (Yo’el 2:25).
